The Inspiration of Music

Songs of the Sea!

 

South Fort Myers High School auditorium

Clarinet openings now!!

 

 

    The concert will start with American River Songs by Pierre LaPlante. Our guest vocalist Steve Bradley will sing Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific, Moon River and the sea chanty The Wellerman. There will be a fun medley of music from Pirates of the Caribbean ARG! The band will play Ralph Vaughn William’s English Folk Songs and some nautical music in Sea Medley. Our group will also throw in the tuba solo Cobbler’s Bench and the music from Mission Impossible. There will of course the Sousa march Hands Across the Sea and the show will conclude with an impressive and dramatic arrangement of music from the movie Titanic.
It is a not to be missed performance of the newest concert band in
Southwest Florida. We hope to see you there.

    The April 14 concert will conclude the season with a lineup of many favourite selections incuding Mission Impossible, The Incredibles, and others.

Sunday Feb 26, 2:00 P.M.

A Voyage into Space.

Bob Helfrich will sing Star Dust and Moon River and the band will play space themed music from Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, Come Fly with Me and When You Wish Upon a Star. Hear Mars from the Planets, a little Klezmer and a Valentines love song.

Sunday Mar 26, 2:00 P.M.

Into the West

This will be a celebration of music inspired by the west like Silverado and Southwest Saga. Hear the memorable tunes from Oklahoma! and some Willie Neson songs. The band will also play some St. Patrick's Day music for some uplifting spring music.

Sunday Apr 16, 2:00 P.M.

All About the Blues

This will be a concert featuring music with Blue in its name. From Blue Tango to Wildcat Blues Clarinet to Old Blue Eyes (Sinatra) to the Blues Brothers it will include a wide variety of music that will entertain everyone. Even a Tuba solo, Tuba Tiger Rag, and some music from the Broadway hit Chicago.
